Star Wars fans have waited a long time for Lucasfilm to debut its full-length trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and the studio did not disappoint. Lucasfilm dropped the video just moments ago during the halftime of tonight's Monday Night Football, and the action-packed footage has left fans stunned. The trailer gives a brand-new look at the awaited blockbuster, and there are plenty of moments to gawp over.
As you can see above, the trailer begins with a foreboding look at Kylo Ren overlooking a fleet of stationed Imperial aircraft. The footage then delves into series of climatic moments where Rey, Luke, Leia, and more are shown. Here at ComicBook, we are breaking down the top five moments of the latest Star Wars trailer. You can check them out in the slides below, and hit us up on Twitter @ComicBook afterwards to let us know what your favorites moments were!
If there's one way to kick off a trailer right, then it is to have a voice over of Snoke lead the way. The latest footage of Star Wars: The Last Jedi started off right when the Supreme Leader was heard talking about Kylo Ren.
"When I found you, I saw raw, untamed power," the villan can be heard saying. "And, something beyond that, something truly special."
Still, are fans positive Snoke is talking about Kylo Ren. There's a chance the villain could be talking about Rey; When the two inevitably meet, the Imperial leader may be able to smooth-talk Rey into letting her guard down.
Allusions To Luke Skywalker's Jedi Order
Luke Skywalker has been in exile for quite awhile, and fans will get to learn more about his self-imposed loneliness once Star Wars: The Last Jedi debuts.
The trailer hinted at the destruction of Luke Skywalker's fledgling Jedi Order at the hands of Kylo Ren. The Jedi says he saw such raw power like Rey's once before but he knows more enough this time around to be fearful of it.
Kylo Ren v Leia Organa
If there's one thing that will break fans' hearts in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, it will be Carrie Fisher. The sequel will house the actress' last go at Leia Organa since the star passed away late last year.
In this new trailer, fans are given a close-up of the Rebel leader in a tense sequence with Kylo Ren. The footage makes it appear as if Kylo will try to kill his mother during a raid on the Rebel Alliance's fleet, and the clash will make fans around the world sob.
Snoke Appears
At long last, we finally get a picture of Snoke in the flesh. The villain has become one of science fiction's most popular baddies since Star Wars: The Force Awakens hit, but no one had seen the Supreme Leader in-person until now.
The trailer for the upcoming Star Wars film ended with Snoke putting up a hand and appearing to tell Rey to "fulfill your destiny" whilst using the Force on her. Could this mean the villain tries to warp the girl towards the Dark Side? For now, fans can only guess.
Does Rey Join Kylo Ren?
The new Star War trilogy has made no bones about its parallels between Kylo Ren and Rey, but the trailer for The Last Jedi took the comparison a step further. As the video came to an end, fans watched as Rey got a close-up and said she needs "someone to show me my place in all this."
When the scene changes, Kylo Ren is shown in a close-up offering his hand out. Fans have started to speculate whether the moment means Rey will come to join Kylo Ren in the Empire or vice versa, but Lucasfilm could just be yanking every body's chain with some very clever editing.
