Chandler Riggs Makes Dark Promise For 'The Walking Dead' Season 8

If you're expecting the war coming in The Walking Dead Season Eight to be deadly, you're right.

Carl Grimes actor Chandler Riggs has been on the popular AMC series since its earliest episodes, so he knows a thing or two about characters being killed off. He has seen a huge number of co-stars come and go through seven seasons, and, based on his recent interview with Triple J, will see more of the same in Season Eight.

"Season Seven was all about building up and getting everyone ready to fight against Negan," Riggs explained. "…And this season is going to be lots of explosions, lots of killing, a lot more Negan. Lots of fighting, lots of cool stuff. It's really really fun this season."

Fun is exactly what The Walking Dead needs after fans complained about seeing Rick Grimes bullied around Alexandria for the 16 episodes leading up to this war. This year, though, it isn't Rick who fans will be feeling bad for. In fact, it's probably the characters they haven't met yet where the pity will be dealt.

"We've had a few characters this season who I feel so bad for, because they're coming in in the midst of all the war and the craziness with the explosions and everything," Riggs said. "I mean I definitely feel like an OG or a veteran because I've been on since I was 10.

For fans hungry for more Walking Dead, they'll get a small fix in the form of a Season Eight preview special airing on AMC ahead of Fear the Walking Dead's upcoming midseason premiere.

The Walking Dead's sibling series Fear the Walking Dead returns September 10th. The Walking Dead will return for its eighth season on October 22, 2017. The Season Eight premiere will mark 100 episodes overall for the popular AMC series. For complete coverage and insider info all season long, follow @BrandonDavisBD on Twitter.
