Fear The Walking Dead Ratings Jump With Extended Ratings

Fear the Walking Dead's ratings are growing in the show's third season, in this case being helped by the extended day viewer numbers.

The Teotwawki episode earned a 52% jump in viewership with extended Live+3 numbers being applied. 1.7 million additional fans tuned in in the days which followed the first airing on April 11. The total number of viewers for Episode 3x3 has risen to 3.8 million.

The latest episode, titled "100", earned 2.3 million live viewers and will likely pick up over a million more in the days which follow airing.

While the numbers are down by comparison to the tail end of Season 2, which was already hitting series lows, the rise is an indication of Fear the Walking Dead's increase in fan and critical reception.

Three weeks into showrunner Dave Erickson's final season with the show and it appears the perspective of the show has changed.. The headlines which used to call the show "boring" are now reading "How Fear the Walking Dead Succeeded Where The Walking Dead So Often Fails", "Fear the Walking Dead Has A Unique Chance To Surpass The Walking Dead", and "In Season 3, Fear The Walking Dead Finally Embraces Its Inner The Walking Dead."

It's all a result of bold storytelling. The AMC series killed off its second lead in Cliff Curtis' Travis Manawa five minutes in to the second half of the Season 3 premiere. Then, it followed that up two weeks later with an almost entire Spanish episode telling the intriguing story of Daniel Salazar, culminating to a well-received and unexpected action sequence.

As Fear the Walking Dead continues to plow through its third season, positive reviews and feedback from fans will only help boost the ratings. Sunday's episode promises to explore Broke Jaw Ranch's inner working while developing the relationship between the Clark family and the Otto family, while also following up on the fan-favorite Daniel Salazar storyline as he searches for his daughter Ofelai with con man Victor Strand.
