Jeffrey Dean Morgan Confirms Negan For The Walking Dead Season 8

Negan will be around on The Walking Dead beyond Season 7.

For fans of the comics this is no surprise but for those fans who exclusively watch the television series, it's time to accept the harsh reality that the most epic villain in the series' history won't be killed off any time soon.

At San Diego Comic Con, Morgan told ComicBook.com he is onboard for "the long haul" but while talking to The Howard Stern Show, he confirmed a return for Season 8.

"I know I will be on board for Season 8," Morgan said. "We've finished [Season 7] a week ago."

As for the immediate future, expect more Negan. After a brief two week absence from the show, Morgan's Negan will be a big part of the next two episodes, which are the final two of 2016 leading into the midseason break.

"The next two, I'm really big in," Jeffrey said. "I'm f---ing heavy in those."

The episode titles and synopses for 7x07 and 7x08 suggest some iconic and infamous moments from the comic books being realized on television. It's great news for fans but bad news for several characters.

The Walking Dead was renewed for an eighth season a week ahead of its Season 7 premiere.
