Melissa McBride Hopes To See Rick And Carol Reunite On The Walking Dead

Season 6, Episode 14: The last time Carol was seen inside the walls of Alexandria. It would be a dozen episodes until she reunited with any of her beloved survivors in Episode 7x10 when Daryl arrived to her Kingdom-outskirts home.

Still, Carol has not seen Maggie, Rick, Carl, Michonne, or any other Alexandrian faces she was always so willing to protect.

Speaking to Carol actress Melissa McBride in an exclusive interview ahead of her return to the AMC series in Sunday night's Bury Me Here episode, ComicBook.com heard the actress' perspective on what a reunion between Rick Grimes and Carol Pelettier might entail.

"I don't know," McBride admits.

"I hope that there is," McBride said. "After hearing what really happened I feel like that may be part of the reason she went to the Kingdom. When she was in Morgan's room and he says, 'We can go to Alexandria right now, I'll go with you.' When he says, 'You need to go there to find out what happened,' she knows something horrible happened, and she doesn't want to go find out. If it's that horrible, I feel horrible."

It's clear, by now, that Carol is dodging a trip to Alexandria. She is preparing for the inevitable fight ahead.

"I'll go to the Kingdom and I'll get my pieces here and I'm going to round everyone up if I have to," McBride said. "Who knows if Alexandria would have her back, but yeah, so there's that."

The Kingdom is certainlly all in with Carol, at this point, in the wake of Benjamin and Richard's deaths. Still McBride hopes to see Carol reunite with the survivors she escaped the perils of Atlanta with.

"I hope there's some reuniting there and reconciliation," McBride said. "I don't know how that would play out though."

The last time Carol and Rick were separated was through the tail end of Season 4. When Carol admitted to killing Tyreese's sick girlfriend and another prison resident to prevent the sickness from spreading, Rick banished her. Luckily for the group, she never strayed too far. The Season 5 premiere saw Carol rescuing the group from the inescapable Terminus cannibals. Upon reuniting, Rick immediately overruled his banishing decision and was grateful for Carol's saving.
