Michael Cudlitz Open For Return On 'The Walking Dead'

Michael Cudlitz has returned to The Walking Dead once since Abraham Ford died, and he is up to do it again should the show call for it.

The actor, who debuted on the series in its fourth season, opened up about a potential return while speaking to CinemaBlend, where he revealed he would "strongly consider" anything the show asked for based on his appreciation for its quality.

"I would strongly consider whatever the show came at me with at any point," Cudlitz said. "I had a great experience with the show. As long as they keep telling stories the way they're telling them, which I feel is amazing, I'd be open to anything as long as it worked with my schedule, obviously. I'm on the other side of [the show's current story]."

As far as being on the other side of the show's current plot, Cudlitz couldn't be more accurate in the statement. Cudlitz's Abraham character was eliminated in the Season Seven premiere with his girlfriend surviving the horrific moment only to die in the finale. There are only a few characters remaining who would be strongly influenced by a flashback sequence involving the character, and they all might be too embroiled in a war to focus on memories at the moment.

Still, Cudlitz has ideas for how Abraham could return.

"But I would certainly come back and play if they wanted me to," Cudlitz added. "I think that any of that stuff, that origin story, or why people are making certain decisions. You could trace it back to our earlier group if that helps, do that. That could certainly be explored, and the audience would love it, because that's how we tell the stories. It wouldn't be something that was manufactured just to bring characters back. We do flashbacks on the show. We have since the beginning. So yeah, all that is definitely a possibility. There's another character that I think would be back before me. But who knows?"

Cudlitz's role in The Walking Dead can be caught in The Walking Dead: The Complete Seventh Season which is available on Blu-ray now.

The Walking Dead's sibling series Fear the Walking Dead returns September 10th. The Walking Dead will return for its eighth season on October 22, 2017. The Season Eight premiere will mark 100 episodes overall for the popular AMC series. For complete coverage and insider info all season long, follow @BrandonDavisBD on Twitter.
