Jeffrey Dean Morgan Honors The Walking Dead Death With Funny Photo

Spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 7 finale follow.

The Walking Dead saw one of its characters bow out in its Season 7 finale on Sunday night. In an effort to sacrifice herself and hopefully kill the villainous Negan, Sasha swallowed Eugene's poisonous pills and turned herself into a zombie.

Losing a cast member is hard on the fans but is even tougher for the stars who have been spending time with them for years.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan had nothing but compliments for the Sonequa Martin-Green on and her character while appearing on Talking Dead after the episode. "I was completely flattered! There's not a more beautiful walker that ever walked," Morgan said. "She was so great. She just knocked it out of the park. Knowing what was happening, being in that cell in particular, and the dialgoue that we had...it was just a thrill for me."

"I think he was genuinely bummed. He liked Sasha. This was not part of his plan, certainly."

Morgan wasn't done paying tribute to his co-star on the recap show. The actor took to Twitter to share a silly photo of himself and Martin-Green decked out in walker make-up from the set.

"So excited to watch you conquer other galaxies," Morgan said, referring to Martin-Green's new role on CBS' Star Trek: Discovery series.

Martin-Green joined the AMC series in 2012's Season 3 Episode 8, Made to Suffer. Her character arrived at the prison with Tyreese and others before becoming integrated to Rick's group of survivors and going on to fight the people of Woodbury, Terminus, and other threats at their side.
