Telltale Games has a pretty full plate of franchises to tend to, but they haven't forgotten about the franchise that paved the way for their more recent popularity, The Walking Dead.

At San Diego Comic-Con, Telltale Creative Director Dennis Lenart and Melissa Hutchinson, who voices Clementine, divulged a few additional details about the upcoming third season of their popular Walking Dead series.

They made a point to highlight that even though the game will continue the story from the first two seasons, season three will be a great hopping on point for new fans. The game puts you in control of both Clementine and new addition Javier, which again gives series loyalists the character they've invested so much time into, but also gives the creators a clean slate to work with in Javier. You'll play as both characters throughout the game.

In addition to Clementine returning, other strands from season two will also show up in the game. These include AJ, who season two players will recall is the son of Rebecca. While there isn't confirmation of anyone else showing up from previous seasons, you never know with The Walking Dead. We don't yet know any intricacies of the plot, but we do know that the timeline is getting pretty close to where the comics are currently.

As you can see in the screenshots (located in the gallery), the engine has received a major upgrade. This is inarguably the most impressive Telltale Walking Dead game from a visual standpoint, and hopefully, the gameplay receives a similar upgrade as well.
