The Walking Dead: Sonequa Martin-Green Explains Sasha's Choice

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE WALKING DEAD's SEASON SEVEN FINALE!

This was arguably the most intense season finale in the history of The Walking Dead, as the war between the Saviors and Alexandria finally began.

However, the excitement didn't come without a price. Sasha, one of everyone's favorite characters, was killed in the episode.

While she was in the coffin, Sasha took the poison pill that Eugene had made. She planned to kill Negan as he opened the door, and give her people a fighting chance.

According to Sonequa Martin-Green, Sasha had plenty of reason behind this important decision.

"When Negan said, 'I'm gonna use you to hurt more of your people." That moves so deeply in my heart that that service was my purpose to my people. To my family."

"Nope, that's not gonna happen. I'm not gonna let that happen, I'm gonna live this out. I knew he was gonna open that casket, I was gonna get him."

Even though Sasha is gone now, her legacy will live on for a while. All of the characters are still alive because her sacrifice, and it won't be in vain.
