The Walking Dead: Dave Chappelle Is Negan In Hilarious Saturday Night Live Sketch

11/13/2016 12:19 am EST

Dave Chappelle returned to television after a considerable absence to host Saturday Night Live this weekend.

The comedian and once king of Comedy Central delivered a hefty batch of President Trump jokes and sketches but was asked leading up to the show whether or not he would bring any of his Chappelle's Show characters to the show. He says he originally wasn't planning on it but recently saw an episode of The Walking Dead which inspired him to bring them to NBC.

In a sketch mocking Negan's introduction, one of the most anticipated hours of television in history, Saturday Night Live produced a sketch starring Dave Chappelle, Dave Chappelle, and Dave Chappelle. The comedian dressed up as The Walking Dead's big bad Negan (portrayed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan on the series) but also lined up on his knees as some of his most iconic characters from his Comedy Central series which ended in 2006.

On hand were Tyrone Biggums, Lil Jon, Leonard Washington, and more characters Chappelle recurred as during three seasons of Chappelle's Show.

Rather than playing eeny-meeny-miny-moe to pick a victim, Chappelle's Negan played "Bubble gum, bubble gum, in a dish," to select his victim. There's no need to spoil the outcome in the text here. Instead, do yourself a favor and watch the video which is embedded at the top of the page. Be warned, the somewhat accurate to The Walking Dead parody features language which is not safe for work.
