It's Time To Panic For Your Favorite 'The Walking Dead' Characters

War does not come without death. The Walking Dead will be no exception to such a rule.

Featured in Entertainment Weekly's new magazine centered around The Walking Dead's Season 8 premiere, showrunner Scott Gimple offered an ominous promise for the war fans have been excited to see. Those fans, however, may want to be careful what they wish for.

"There are some big deaths this season," Gimple said. Fans of The Walking Dead comics often think they know who will be claimed by the apocalypse in each season but Gimple's tag to the dark promise might leave them wondering how much they really know. "I think [the deaths will] possibly catch people by surprise," Gimple said.

The war, which is promised to reach a conclusion before the 16 episodes of Season 8 have run their course, will launch in the Season 8 premiere, propelling beloved characters into unpredictable situations.

As for which characters will go, Morgan Jones seems to be a likely candidate. The character is one of very few remaining from the show's first season but teased a grim fate during The Walking Dead's Season 8 preview special.

Dwight actor Austin Amelio was quite excited to shared his perspective in the new magazine.

"It's a f---ing in-your-face, action-packed IV of adrenaline," Amelio said. "Season 7 was the ramp-up and now this is the blastoff. The stuff that's happening is insane!"

The Walking Dead's sibling series Fear the Walking Dead airs Sunday nights at 9 pm ET on AMC. The Walking Dead will return for its eighth season on October 22, 2017. The Season 8 premiere will mark 100 episodes overall for the popular AMC series. For complete coverage and insider info all season long, follow @BrandonDavisBD on Twitter.
