The Walking Dead: Is Carol Going To Kill Negan?

The Walking Dead's Bury Me Here episode for one of Season 7's most pivotal. The show's anti-war characters appear to be all set for just the opposite in the wake of Benjamin and Richard's deaths.

To end Sunday night's episode, Carol Pelettier marched to the Kingdom where she met with King Ezekiel and told him they will have to fight Negan and the Saviors. While the King confirmed he is on board with the fight, he realized the fight does not have to happen today, and elected to spend his time gardening with the last remaining member of Benjamin's family.

It wasn't Benjamin and Richard's deaths which pushed Carol over the edge, though. Instead, if was learning about Glenn and Abraham's true fates from Morgan Jones. Shortly after killing Richard, Morgan knocked on Carol's door and told her the truth after insisting he would do no such thing in an effort to protect her.

Carol is ready for war, Melissa McBride tells ComicBook.com in an exclusive interview.

"Yeah, she's ready to fight," McBride said. "This is what she knew would happen if she found out, which is why she didn't want to know. Eh, all right, say it. Oh god, just say it."

In fact, Carol left her house and head for the Kingdom rather than Alexandria because she, like Rick, is rallying an army. "I believe to go talk with Ezekiel," McBride says of Carol's reasoning in which community to approach. "Let him know, 'We have to fight.' See where he's at with it, and there he's right on board, immediately. I think that's why she went there."

Carol is not alone. Morgan is very much officially on board with the war, as well, according to Lennie James. "The next stage of Morgan one way or another, like it is for everybody else, is how he's going to navigate the inevitability of that war," James said.

As for whether or not either of the characters will kill Negan can only be determined on Sunday nights. However, in The Walking Dead comics, Negan survives the war despite losing. Rick locks the villain away in the Alexandria jail cell in an effort to prove humanity can be restored. At this point in the books, though, Carol and Morgan have both been long dead, meaning they are wildcards for the television series and predicting their future actions is a bit more difficult.
