The Walking Dead Star Addresses Whisperers Theory

In The Walking Dead comics, Negan's group is hardly the biggest threat Rick Grimes ever faced.

Following the war against the Saviors, Rick manages to build a civilization which thrives for years but is, of course, interupted by another villainous faction. This group is called the Whisperers and while they shouldn't be introduced on the AMC series for some time should it follow its source material's story, it is "possible" we have already met them.

In The Walking Dead's off-season this year, Pollyanna McIntosh who plays Jadis on the AMC series was bumped up to a series regular. With this move indicating we will be seeing more of the already villainous and slightly bizarre character, fans are beginning to speculate if she might see a transformation in the bald headed comic book character of Alpha, leader of the Whisperers.

Over the weekend, ComicBook.com caught up with McIntosh at Walker Stalker Con in Nashville, Tennessee to ask her the question directly. While she, of course, can't give away spoilers, she is not denying the theory's credibility.

"I think, you know, in a very diplomatic, poltician type of way," McIntosh started. "I can say I think anything is possible in this universe we're inhabiting right now and that's one of the really strong points of the show because I'm not gonna tell you anything!"

While we will have to wait, possibly for years, to find out if McIntosh's Jadis will evolve into the series' main villain some time down the road, fans will continue to love to hate McIntosh's character for betraying the beloved group in the Season 7 finale.

"They've been very warm," McIntosh said of the fans at her first Walker Stalker Convention. "They've been very creative. They've been bringing me dolls and gifts and they've been bringing they're kids to meet me. I'm honestly just overwhelmed and it's very emotional and sweet. They seem to be able to separate Jadis the b----, excuse me, that they scream at the TV about from me who brings her to life but is quite nice, really."
