The Walking Dead: Katelyn Nacon Reveals Glenn's Impact On Enid

Enid has been one of The Walking Dead's more unpredictable characters since being introduced in the show's fifth season. She is such a lone wolf that fans began suspecting she might be a member of the Wolves. Some suspect she is an undercover Savior. Neither of those cases are likely to turn out as accurate accusations but the character certainly enjoys her fair share of alone time.

In Season 6, she packed up and was ready to leave Alexandria for good, returning to the life she had known for so long when she was living on the road and eating turtles to survive until she crossed paths with a certain good-hearted survivor.

Speaking to fans at a poolside panel aboard the Walker Stalker Cruise, Enid actress Katelyn Nacon gave full credit to Glenn Rhee for her character's return to Alexandria and move to the Hilltop.

"She had nothing there for her," Nacon said of Alexandria, prompting Carl actor Chandler Riggs who was sitting beside her for the panel feel a touch unappreciated.

"She cared about Carl and she knew if she got closer to him it would just hurt and if she was was dating Carl, there's an aspect of that," Nacon said. "She's loved and she knew that she'd be better off there."

"She grew up without her parents," Nacon said. "That's how she learned how to survive, is on her own. That's why she leaves Alexandria."

However, when Enid found Glenn under the dumpster and was later tracked down and all but forced to come home, the character learned a valuable lesson according to Nacon, giving him full credit for Enid's return home.

"Glenn showed her this whole other side to it and if he never did that, she'd be on her own," Nacon said.

This all, of course, is likely what lead Enid to follow Maggie to the Hilltop and finally begin to accept her as a motherly figure as we saw in Episode 7x05 (Go Getters) when the two enjoyed dinner and time together at the neighboring community.

The Walking Dead returns for the rest of its seventh season on February 12 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
