Did Last Night's Episode Of The Walking Dead Reveal Negan's Weakness?

WARNING: Major spoilers ahead for The Walking Dead's latest episode of season seven, 'Hostiles And Calamities'.

Ever since Negan was introduced on The Walking Dead last season, it was made clear that he was the villain of the future.

Everyone who crosses Negan will be punished, and that fear has allowed him to build a small empire on the outskirts of Washington DC.

Currently, Rick is fighting tooth-and-nail to overpower the Saviors with numbers, and that's not an easy task. Negan is always increasing his numbers, and he's already got a massive amount of soldiers.

It's going to take everything the survivors have to beat Negan, but we learned this week that they might not have to go through all that. In the most subtle of ways, The Walking Dead revealed Negan's biggest weakness.

A good liar can take Negan down, almost single-handedly.

Eugene lied to Negan about the Human Genome Project, and he's got the leader eating out of the palm of his hand.

Negan knows he scares Eugene, so he's not worried about being betrayed - that's the way he operates with many of his followers. Negan prides himself in his ability to read people, and he knows when he's got someone broken.

However, to this point, he's never met a guy like Eugene. As viewers learned over the last few years, Eugene is the best liar on the show. He might be kneeling to Negan, pledging his allegiance, but a slick play here could lead to Negan's ultimate downfall.

He's too arrogant to think a coward like Eugene could hurt him, so the door is open for a giant turn in momentum.
