The Walking Dead went through some tough times during the first half of this season, as it saw a sharp decline in ratings through the first six weeks.

After debuting to over 17 million people on the night of the season seven premiere, the show dropped week-after-week. By the end of the sixth episode, titled 'Swear', the ratings had hit their lowest point since season three.

However, a slight increase over the final two episodes of 2016, The Walking Dead began returning to form over the last two weeks. Now that the Live +7 ratings have been released, you can see that the series is showing dominance over the competition once again.

When you include the live viewers from Sunday, and everyone that watched the show on-demand throughout the week, you can see that The Walking Dead is still pulling in almost 17 million viewers.

According to Zap2It, the show brought in over 12 million viewers for the midseason premiere, and anther 4822 over the course of the following week. That brings the episode 9 total viewers to 16,837,000.

These numbers are reminiscent of some of the best The Walking Dead has seen over the course of its run, and the it's showing no signs of slowing down now.
