The Walking Dead: Unboxing Daryl Dixon Resin Statue by McFarlane Toys

The mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead season 7 is just over a week away, but you can have some awesome new Daryl Dixon in your life right now. McFarlane Toys has another awesome Walking Dead product coming out this month, a 10" Daryl Dixon Resin statue that makes roadkill out of the walkers, fully licensed by AMC and using actor Norman Reedus's likeness. This deluxe statue has been teased for awhile now, and is finally coming out, in a limited edition numbered release of 1,500.

McFarlane Toys sent one of the statues to the ComicBook.com office, and we couldn't wait to crack into it. You can see our full unboxing in the video above, with close-up looks and analysis of the statue from every angle.

When opening the box (the box itself is a behemoth), you'll find the three-piece styrofoam (branded with AMC's The Walking Dead and McFarlane Toys, naturaly) keeping your statue safe, topped with your certificate of authenticity, numbered and signed by Todd McFarlane himself. Carefully opening one side, you'll remove a couple of the walkers and the bulk of the statue - Daryl on his bike. The other side contains another walker and the base.

All told, assembly only took about 3 minutes (we time-lapsed it for you at the start of the video above), and about half that time is you just oggling at the detail. The detail here is absolutely incredible, with guts dripping off Daryl's motorcycle, a pitch-perfect likeness of Norman Reedus, and every bit of glorious painted detail. The walkers look undead and visceral (no pun intended - okay, maybe a little intended), and Daryl's signature crossbow looks like a valid weapon for fighting back the zombie apocalypse.

A nice extra touch is the bonus head - what we called in-studio the "Norman Reedus variant" - that head has Reedus's signature sunglasses he wears to nearly every event and on his other hit AMC series, Ride with Norman Reedus. The heads easily pop in and out of the rest of the statue so you can change them up depending on your mood.

Any The Walking Dead or Daryl Dixon fan will be absolutely thrilled with this statue, the composition, the likeness, the durability; it looks like a museum piece you can have in your home. The MSRP is $329 on this limited edition collectible, and you can check out McFarlane.com/toys for more information, including the soon-to-be-announced availability date.
