The Walking Dead: When These Dead Characters Might Return In Season 7

01/26/2017 02:45 pm EST

Warning: Potentially major spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 7 follow.

Earlier this week, ComicBook.com reported on a rumored return of one of Negan's victims to The Walking Dead for its Season 7 finale. As the sources say, Michael Cudlitz will be making an appearance in the final episode of the season in a flashback or dream sequence. If true, major spoilers for the upcoming episodes follow.

The context of Cudlitz's return to The Walking Dead surrounds the expectations for Sonequa Martin-Green's Sasha to be killed off in the finale. Given Sasha's similarities to Holly from the comics, many are expecting her to sacrifice herself in a similar fashion to Holly's sacrifice in the comics.

As the rumors go, Sasha will see the sendoff before the season comes to a close and in her final moments, see her love Abraham, once again.

It's a moment similar to her brother Tyreese's death. When Tyreese when sent packing in Season 5, he had hallucinations which caused him to see several dead characters who had major effects on his life on The Walking Dead. Among them were the Governor, Beth, Lizzie, Mika, and Bob. A similar sendoff for Sasha would fit the Williams family, beautifully.

For Sasha, the characters most likely to return would be Tyreese, Bob, Noah, Gareth from Terminus, and Abraham. Gareth makes the cut because of the Governor's villainous return in Tyreese's vision. The leader of Terminus had a major impact on Sasha, killing her boyfriend Bob and prompting her life desperate vengeance.

For now, the only rumors point to Abraham's return for a potential flashback, hallucination, or dream sequence. This is also unconfirmed but will be a welcome moment for fans who have missed Big Red since his introduction to Lucille in The Walking Dead's midseason 7 finale. The rumors may turn out to be entirely false or they may be only a small piece of a larger scene packed with fallen zombie apocalypse survivors. In any case, we'll all be glued to the screens to find out when The Walking Dead returns in a few weeks.

In addition to Tyreese's dying visions, other characters have returned to the AMC series after being killed off. Jon Bernthal pulled off a small cameo during Rick's attack on Woodbury in Season 3 and Hershel Greene managed to pop into a flashback sequence long after the prison had fallen and his head was removed.
