The Walking Dead: Who Dies In New Best Friends

02/19/2017 10:30 am EST

Rolling into the tenth episode of The Walking Dead's seventh season, the fate of several characters is up in the air. Eugene hasn't been seen since heading off to the Sanctuary with Negan. Rick, Aaron, Michonne, Tara and Rosita are surrounded by potential hostile heavily armed strangers. Father Gabriel is missing in action after having been kidnapped from his post inside the Safe-Zone.

For the series built on the mantra of "no one is safe," anybody can go at any time. However, some characters feel a bit more likely to go than others as the story continues barreling towards the inevitable war ahead.

Who is the most likely to bow out and meet their maker before Episode 7x10, New Best Friends, comes to a close? Let's take a look...

Rick- Safe. Rick is finally returning to form. Typically, when a character is last seen surrounded by heavily armed strangers, we would say they're in danger. However, Rick's calm and, actually, happy demeanor indicates that he is in little danger.

Michonne- Safe. Michonne, at Rick's side, is equipped with the necessary skills to survive a fight but, more importantly, the intellect to avoid one altogether.

Carl- Safe. Having finally learned his lesson about sneaking out of the Sanctuary, Carl might actually lay low and learn to survive.

Aaron- Danger. Aaron is one of the characters who survives the war with Negan in The Walking Dead comics but also fits the bill for a death swap which would shock us all. He continues to emerge as a vital component of Rick's group which often spells trouble -- ask Hershel or Abraham.

Maggie- Safe. Currently emerging as the leader of the Hilltop, Maggie will continue to evolve and handle threats with ease, all the while playing a major role in the upcoming war with the Saviors.

Eugene- Danger. While we won't see Eugene in Episode 7x10, his status is still one of being in danger seeing as he is on his way to Negan's Sanctuary having just created the bullet which damaged Lucille.

Sasha- Danger. Having lost everyone in her life, Sasha is broken down and willing to risk it all to for revenge against Negan. While the battles might not start any time soon, Sasha's actions are constantly unpredictable.

Rosita- Danger. She's a soldier who knows how to adapt but also on a course for revenge. As someone who tends to act on immediate interests rather than the grander picture's best options, her haste may prove costly as she meets this new group in the junkyard.

Daryl- Danger. Daryl is Negan's number one target. He'll quickly get bored of staying at the Kingdom but marching around this world with the Saviors lurking is not a good idea.

Dwight- Safe. He has some serious internal struggles going on but his following of Negan keeps him safe -- at least, for now.

Simon- Safe. Simon has taken charge of the Saviors' factions which go out on runs without Negan. He might run into trouble later but, for now, he's safe.

Negan- Safe. For now, Negan is still in complete control of the Sanctuary's surrounding communities. That said, it might not last that much longer as Rick rallies soldiers.

Ezekiel- Safe. Surrounded by people ready to sacrifice for him, King Ezekiel sits safely on his throne with great power over not only his community but also Alexandria's future.

Richard- Danger. Quick to act out against the Saviors during peaceful exchanges, Richard's actions might prove costly for himself and/or those around him.

Benjamin- Danger. Benjamin is quickly learning how to use a stick like Morgan but being able to fight often translates to looking for a fight.

Carol- Safe. She is still a threat to herself but Ezekiel isn't going to let her go too far off the deep end. Plus, Carol and Daryl have to reunite sometime, right?

Morgan- Safe. Best equipped to take on threats around him and trained in disciplined fighting, Morgan does what it takes to survive and protect those around him and is willing to break his code if absolutely necessary. Is there a killing machine hiding in there?

Father Gabriel- Danger. Gabriel disappeared from Alexandria last week and is certainly being forced into a scenario which is not ideal. As for his fate, we can't be too sure that he's going to survive.

Jesus- Safe. Equipped with ninja-like skills, Jesus is ready to do battle and protect himself on a moment's notice.

Gregory- Danger. His people know he is weak, all of the Negan's men are mad at him, and there's a certain widow after his job.

Tara- Danger. She clawed her way back to Alexandria and continues to try climbing the leadership ranks but such actions can prove costly. Being a leader means being on the frontlines and we all know there's a war ahead.
