The Walking Dead's Lucille Hits The Big Bang Theory

Thursday's episode of The Big Bang Theory came packed with an Easter Egg for The Walking Dead fans.

When Stuart's heroics became necessary on the CBS series, his weapon of choice in defending his home from potential burglar's was Lucille - Negan's barbed wire wrapped baseball bat. Stuart has taken the bat from the show's comic book store, indicating the The Walking Dead exists in the Big Bang Theory's universe (like most geek culture subjects do) rather than teasing Big Bang Theory's existence within The Walking Dead universe pre-apocalypse, which there certainly would have been some theories about.

Lucille made her presence known on The Walking Dead in the Season 6 finale, carrying out her introduction in the Season 7 premiere as she was used to bash the skulls of Abraham and Glenn. Her true origin, however, comes from Robert Kirkman's The Walking Dead comics issue #100.

Today, Lucille has become an icon in pop culture and one of the most recognizable and brutal props in all of television and film.

The Big Bang Theory was not the only show to bring Lucille into the mix on Thursday. Negan actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan's former series Supernatural teased Morgan's new home on the AMC zombie drama by having his Winchester family toss a Lucille joke, baseball bat in hand, in The Walking Dead's direction.

The Walking Dead is currently the fifth ranked series in ComicBook.com's TV database, earning a rating of 87.14 out of 100 from fan votes. The only shows ranked with more prestige are The Flash, Stranger Things, Daredevil, and Game of Thrones.
