Walker Stalker Con Announces New Immersive 'Dead Truth' Experience

Walker Stalker Con has become beloved by fans for its intimate and exciting experiences, and the company is taking the con-going experience to new levels this fall.

An immersive experience called The Dead Truth will offer attendees a brand new con experience at its launch at Walker Stalker Con in Atlanta, the brand's biggest event of the year. The exact details of the event are still shrouded in mystery for now. The event's creative director/writer Nick Floyd said that they aim to build an "immersive and very entertaining" experience which lasts for about three hours. He called it, "a love letter to not just horror fans, but to The Walking Dead fans, as well." Similar can be said about the convention, overall.

When guests walk out of The Dead Truth experience, Floyd hopes to have offered an opportunity for them to have been fully immersed in the fictional world he is creating.

"The Dead Truth slowly begins unfolding via TheDeadTruth.com as you follow our main character through the process of exposing someone or something horrific to the world," Floyd told ComicBook.com. "There are clues scattered around the site and they will continue to build over the course of the next several weeks. The more readers dig into these clues, the more they will feel prepared during the actual experience. As far as digging into the actual storyline further than that...the rest must remain a mystery. While folks can purchase tickets for the actual experience, the storyline will build publicly (for those who don't purchase a ticket) and will go even more in depth privately (for those who have a ticket). Once the day of the event arrives, everyone will have a very clear understanding of the story and why they are needed to 'join the cause.'"

Floyd points out The Dead Truth officially launches just days prior to Halloween during the fifth anniversary of Walker Stalker Con's Atlanta show. "It just seems like this is the best opportunity to debut something of this size and scope for these attendees," Floyd said. "Plus, it's the closest show to Halloween...and, what better time to do a horror based immersive experience?"

For Floyd, a filmmaker and key member to Walker Stalker and FanFest's creative team, The Dead Truth will inevitably serve as a milestone in his creative career -- unlike anything he has worked on before. "This has been the one thing I've been having the most fun with during the preparation of this experience," Floyd said. "Normally I'm used to writing/developing short films, commercials and web series with the goal in mind to immerse the viewer in that specific form of storytelling. The biggest challenge as storyteller for any form of digital media is that what's on screen isn't tangible to the audience. You have to work overtime to ensure the audience feels like they're right there with the characters in the story. But, with The Dead Truth, the participants will be in actual locations in the city of Atlanta communicating with several characters that 'exist.'"

Walker Stalker Con takes place in Atlanta, Georgia from October 27th through the 29th.
