The Walking Dead: Is Morgan Going To Die?

03/12/2017 04:12 pm EDT

Heading into The Walking Dead tonight, it's clear that Morgan isn't quite as stable as he seems. He's been quite shaky in his non-violent beliefs as of late, and the coming of an All Out War is weighing heavily on him.

With all that in mind, fans have began to wonder, "Is Morgan going to die soon?"

Honestly, that's not a totally far-off notion.

If you read the comics, you'll know that Morgan has been gone for quite a while. After finding Rick and the group again, the guy struggled to find his place among the crowd. When the herd attacked Alexandria, Morgan was bitten and killed. So, if you're using the comics as a comparison, Morgan should have been dead long ago.

Since he isn't, it's clear that Morgan still has some purpose left. The tough part however, is figuring out exactly what Morgan's purpose is.

If that purpose is to be Rick's eyes and ears in The Kingdom, Morgan will be around awhile. There are few people in the world Rick truly trusts. Despite Morgan's constant opposition, he seems to remain one of those people.

On the other hand, if Morgan's purpose is to be the the opposition of war, he's got a death sentence coming much sooner.

War is inevitable - that's a fact at this point. If Morgan continues to stand in the way, he's going to be run over. War will stop at nothing, and it will crush everything in its path.

If this is the case, Morgan's days are certainly numbered. He may not die this week, but a death in season seven makes a lot of sense.
