Watch: Alien Facehugger Is No Match For Rick And Morty

With the release of Alien: Covenant less than a week away, 20th Century Fox has joined forces with Adult Swim to help promote it. And how best can Adult Swim do that? By having Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon -- the creators of its immensely-popular animated series Rick and Morty -- create an Alien-inspired sketch featuring its leading characters encountering a facehugger.

"The first rule of space travel, kids, is always check out distress beacons," Rick wisely told Morty and Summer in the Season 2 episode: 'Auto Erotic Assimilation.' "9 out of 10 times, it's a ship full of dead aliens and a bunch of free sh-t!"

Apparently, Rick forgot about rule #1 or had a change of heart. While cruising the galaxy, Rick tells Morty to hit the ignore button on an incoming distress signal. Morty gets upset, telling Rick they shouldn't ignore it. Rick caves, and the pair go exploring the nearby spaceship. As they see green, acidic blood melting through the interior of the ship, Morty instanly regrets pressuring Rick and tries to convince his grandfather to turn around and leave. That's when a facehugger leaps onto Rick's face, attempting to lay eggs down his mouth. It doesn't go well for the facehugger.

Director Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with ALIEN: COVENANT, a new chapter in his groundbreaking ALIEN franchise. The crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the "synthetic" David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. When they uncover a threat beyond their imagination, they must attempt a harrowing escape.

The cast features Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England, and Benjamin Rigby.

Alien: Covenant opens in theaters on May 19, 2017.
