Riverdale Showrunner Teases Major Plot Point About Jughead's Father

This week's episode of Riverdale promises to bring a series if bombshells, as the identity of Jason Blossom's killer will be revealed.

The running suspect, at least within the world of the show, is FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich), Jughead's dad and a member of the Southside Serpents. F.P. has been met with some scrutiny by the other members of Riverdale's community, with several signs pointing to him being involved in some facet of Jason's murder.

With last week's episode ending with FP's arrest, it's safe to assume that some sort of revelation about him will come to light in this week's episode. And according to a recent tweet from Riverdale's showrunner, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, fans can expect just that.

While the tweet itself might suggest that FP killed Jason, the attached still appears to tell a different story. It's established that Jason was kidnapped and tortured for a week leading up to his death - and although many of the exact specifics of that are still unknown, this shot of FP standing outside in the rain doesn't match that.

It does, however, most likely indicate that FP did have a hand in burning Jason's getaway car, which is echoed by a brief shot in the 'Anatomy of a Murder' promo. Fans had guessed that FP had a hand in that event as soon as it occurred earlier in the season, largely due to the fact that Jason's letterman jacket had made its way into FP's closet.

FP having burnt the car, but not killed Jason, would certainly be a good misdirect after weeks of characters suspecting him. But as of right now, there's no way of telling what bombshells will be revealed about FP, or the other characters of the show. After all, if there's one thing Riverdale has become known for, it's unpredictability.
