'Riverdale's Vanessa Morgan Wants Toni Topaz To Date This Character

Riverdale may be filled with plenty of romantic relationships, but one of the show's newest cast members has a particular pairing in mind.

Vanessa Morgan, who is set to play openly bisexual character Toni Topaz on the second season of The CW series, revealed which character she would like Toni to be romantically involved with.

"Cheryl Blossom." Morgan said in a recent interview with Bustle. "Because Madelaine Petsch is my best friend in real life."

For some, the pairing of Riverdale High's resident ice queen and Morgan's South Side Serpent might seem a little unconventional, but it's certainly plausible. Cheryl primarily swore off of love interests in Riverdale's first season - aside from a brief attempted fling with Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) - but she certainly could find love in the second season. And while Petsch as hinted that Cheryl could be "even meaner" in Season 2, there's no reason why a relationship with Toni would change that over the course of the 22-episode season.

Even if Toni doesn't end up getting with Cheryl, Morgan revealed that she takes her role as a bisexual character very seriously.

"My character is bisexual," Morgan explained. "This is one hundred percent important."

Riverdale's second season will premiere on a new night, on Wednesday, October 11th, at 8/7c, on The CW.

As the town breathed a collective sigh of relief that Jason's killer had been found out, another terrible crime occurred, in a space that had been considered one of the town's safest, most innocent places. If Jason Blossom's murder revealed the slimy underbelly beneath Riverdale's surface, as we enter Season Two, the shooting of Fred Andrews threatens to plunge the entire town into utter darkness.
