Adult Swim was kind enough to send us a copy of Samurai Jack: The Complete Series, and though I haven't been able to get through all 1,364 minutes of the animation that it contains in time for this review, I can say that die-hard fans will be very pleased with the remastered content. This is the first time that the seasons that aired between 2001 and 2004 have been made available in HD, and they look outstanding. In fact, seeing the first four seasons in HD is the main reason for owning this set.

That is to say, there isn't much that's new and exciting in this boxed set outside of the remastered seasons. Fans are familiar with the recent Season 5 in HD of course, and the majority of the special features available in this set were included with previous releases. The full list of special features includes:

• The Evolution of Jack! (Exclusive to this set)
• Pitch Movies (Exclusive to this set)
• The Making of Samurai Jack
• Genndy's Scrapbook
• The Pitch
• The Martial Arts of Samurai Jack
• Lost Artwork Gallery
• Audio Commentary

Note: If you purchase one of the awesome products featured here, we may earn a small commission from the retailer.

The bottom line is that a boxed set of this nature is a rare thing for Adult Swim, and Samurai Jack deserves the best. For the most part, they really delivered for fans. If you are one of the die-hard Samurai Jack fans that simply must have this, the good news is that you can order on Amazon right now for $87.39, which is 23-percent off the list price. If Season 5 is all you need, you can order that here for $22.29, or 26-percent off the list price. In the gallery below you'll find additional images that show off some of the artwork for discs in the boxed set, as well as the metal art print that's included as a bonus.
