Futurama Has A New Streaming Home

Good news, everyone! Futurama has found a new streaming home.

A new deal with 20th Century Fox will see the animated streaming favorite Futurama land on Hulu in the coming weeks.

The deal also includes streaming rights for the full run of other popular Fox animated series, including Bob's Burgers, The Cleveland Show, and American Dad!

Hulu is quickly becoming the streaming service of choice for fans of animated comedies. Futurama, Bob's Burgers, The Cleveland Show, and American Dad! will join full runs of South Park, Rick & Morty, The Boondocks, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken, Adventure Time, Squidbillies and Venture Bros. and new, uploaded as they air episodes of Family Guy, Archer, and The Simpsons.

The announcement concerning the animated series follows the announcement that Fox had name Hulu the exclusive streaming home of live-action series This Is Us, Fresh Off the Boat, Empire, The Last Man on Earth, Homeland, and others.

Most of Futurama was removed from Netflix in July. Fans did not take the news well and responded with a barrage of memes expressing their dismay.

This isn't the only "good news!" to come for Futurama fans in recent weeks. The new mobile game Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow recently launched with brand new animated sequences and the original voice cast. Executive producer David X. Cohen also suggested that more Futurama news could be coming later this summer.

Futurama was created by The Simpsons creator Matt Groening and debuted on Fox in 1999. The show ran for four seasons and was canceled in 2003. In 2002, the show began syndication as part of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim block, where it found new popularity. This led to a revival in 2006, beginning first with four direct-to-DVD movies (Bender's Big Score, The Beast With A Billion Backs, Bender's Game, and Into the Wild Green Yonder) and then new seasons on Comedy Central. The series was canceled again in 2013, though its syndicated ratings remain strong.

Futurama: Worlds of Tomorrow is available now on iOS devices via the App Store and Android mobile devices via Google Play.
