Dana White Comments On Brock Lesnar And CM Punk's UFC Future

12/27/2016 11:45 am EST

TMZ Sports caught up with Dana White to get his thoughts on UFC 207 as well as the octagon futures of former WWE champions, Brock Lesnar and CM Punk.

Lesnar is currently serving a one year suspension the Nevada State Athletic Commission which will keep him from returning to the UFC until at least July of 2017 as a result of positive drug tests which also changed the official result of his UFC 200 fight with Mark Hunt from "victory" to "no contest". White is not optimistic about seeing the Beast back in the UFC:

I doubt it - I don't know how much longer he's got with WWE. I think his career is winding down but he's a freak of nature. Who knows … maybe he'll give me a call and say he wants to do it again but I think he's ready to ride off into the sunset.

CM Punk, on the other hand, is anxious to get back in the UFC to prove he is a better fighter than his 2:45 second loss to Mickey Gall would suggest. Dana White is cautious about getting the second city saint back on UFC pay per view:

I don't know. I've got to talk to him and see how this thing works out for him. UFC's a dangerous place, man. It really is. It's a tough place to come in for your first couple fights. I give him all the credit and respect in the world for coming in and giving it a shot. It's a tough place to do it though. But we'll see what happens. I love the guy.

Brock Lesnar is scheduled to compete in the 2017 Royal Rumble while CM Punk's future remains up in the air. Even though you won't be seeing Punk compete anytime soon, you can tune into Smackdown LIVE tonight on the USA Network to hear the Chicago crowd continually chant the straight edge superstars name for no apparent reason.
