Wrestling Superstars Post About Chyna's Passing

The news of Joanie "Chyna" Laurer's passing at the age of 45 hit the wrestling world like a powerbomb and spread fast, even to most of the WWE roster, which is doing a European tour at the moment.

Thoughts, memories, prayers, and condolences were shared across social media by the people who knew her best in and outside of the ring. WWE posted an official statement this morning.

WWE is saddened to learn of reports that Joanie Laurer, best known for competing in WWE as Chyna, has passed away.

A physically striking and wildly talented performer, Chyna was a true sports-entertainment pioneer. Not only did the Superstar dubbed "The Ninth Wonder of the World" help found the groundbreaking faction D-Generation X, but she also holds the distinction of being the first and only female to win the Intercontinental Championship.

WWE extends its condolences to Laurer's family, friends and fans.

The people posting their condolences are a who's who in the world of professional wrestling, from former boyfriend and WWE COO Triple H, to his wife Stephanie, former competitors, rival promotions, and those who were left inspired by her.


There hasn't been an official ruling behind the reason of her passing, but it is speculated to be drug overdose related. We'll keep you updated on the situation as it develops.
