Erik Larsen To Draw A Fill-In Issue of Spawn in November
09/21/2015 02:38 pm EDT
Spawn #258, originally solicited as having been written by Paul Jenkins and featuring art by Jonboy, will now be written by Todd McFarlane, with art provided by Erik Larsen.
There was a middle step in between, when McFarlane was to write the issue for Jonboy, but Larsen announced earlier this month that he would be doing a fill-in on another Image Comics title and many fans guessed Spawn.
Even Jonboy's solicited cover, which was completed and featured in earlier solicitations, will be replaced by a Larsen cover (seen in full below).
Larsen previously pencilled 2010's Spawn #199.
Larsen's Savage Dragon and Spawn are the only two original Image Comics titles that has been continuously in print since the company was founded. Larsen has remained the ongoing writer and artist on Savage Dragon the whole time, while McFarlane has always remained involved, but to varying degrees.
