Exclusive Archie Comics Preview: Jughead #8

Archie Comics has provided ComicBook.com with an exclusive first look at Jughead #8, due out next Wednesday from the creative team of writer Chip Zdarsky and artist Derek Charm.

The issue is the second half of a two-part story in which Archie and Jughead are out camping...when they're faced with a bear. Things back in Riverdale have been going crazy lately, but it seems as though a quiet outing in the woods isn't all it's cracked up for, either.

The issue, which also features variant covers from Andre Szymanowicz and Walt Simonson with Laura Martin, is the latest New Riverdale comic to hit the stands and the third in as many weeks, following last week's Betty & Veronica #1 and this week's Archie #10.

At Comic Con International last week, of course, Archie was out in force: not only did they have copious amounts of Betty & Veronica merch including exclusive covers, sketch covers, t-shirts and lariats, but a handful of lucky fans had their first opportunity to check out the pilot for The CW's Riverdale, which takes the Archie characters and transplants them into a deeply flawed, Twin Peaks-inspired world of murder and intrigue.

You can check out the preview pages for Jughead #8 in the attached gallery, and the solicitation text for the issue, which will be released on Wednesday, August 3 at your local comic shop and digitally on ComiXology and via the Archie app.
