The second volume to 2014's surprise blockbuster, Guardians of the Galaxy, is looking like it's going to keep the throne for at least one more week. James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy made $333,176,600 domestically in theaters and another $440,152,029 internationally according to BoxOfficeMojo.com. His sequel or as Gunn calls it, "vol. 2" is set to make even more. Opening weekend Guardians vol 2 raked in $146,510,104 and Deadline.com is estimating that it will be making yet another 66 million to 73 million it's second weekend.

Opening this weekend is Warner Brothers/Village Roadshow's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, directed by Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Guy Ritchie. The $175 million dollar epic hasn't gained too many positive reviews earning a shameful 23% at RottenTomatoes.com. Ritchie's last film, the 2015 The Man from U.N.C.L.E. did a bit better with a 67%, but belly flopped at the box office with an opening of $13 million.

King Arthur isn't set to do too much better, unfortunately. Projections reported in the LA Times and DeadLine.com see a 25 million dollar opening, giving Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 the top spot by far for a second weekend. That's even with a lower than expected second weekend drop.

Also opening the May 12th weekend is the Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn comedy Snatched. Unless something really shocking happens, Goldie Hawns return to the big screen will open at a number three. Schumer's film, though has considerably less to make up as it's budget stands at $42 million.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is directed by Guy Ritchie, from a screenplay by Joby Harold and Guy Ritchie & Lionel Wigram, based on a story by David Dobkin and Joby Harold. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is produced by Akiva Goldsman, Joby Harold, Tory Tunnell, Steve Clark-Hall, Guy Ritchie, Lionel Wigram and executive produced by David Dobkin and Bruce Berman.

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword opens in theaters May 12, 2017. It currently has a 3.07-of-5 in the ComicBook Anticipation Ratings by users, good for No. 40 prior to release.
