Katrina Law Discusses Her "Ride Or Die" Training Day Role

Many fans will know her as Nyssa Al Ghul on the CW's Arrow but Katrina Law is ready to trade in the sword for a Kimber 1911 and join the LAPD on Training Day.

The Training Day reboot pits Law with some accomplished co-stars on CBS. She stars alongside Bill Paxton, who appears to be stepping into the reboot's version of Denzel Washington's Alonzo Harris from the 2001 film. ComicBook.com spoke to actress about the role which she will debut in later this week to hear her perspective of what Detective Rebecca Lee is up to on the streets of Los Angeles.

"I play Detective Rebecca Lee who is a detective in the SIS division of the LAPD," Law said. "She is extremely loyal to Frank Rourke who is played by the wonderful and amazing and very funny Bill Paxton. He basically saved her from human trafficking at the age of 9 and since then she has looked up to him as a hero. Eventually, wanted to emulate his life and wanted to follow him into the LAPD and now she is in his division and she is ride or die for all the boys in the SIS."

Law is no stranger to action scenes. Such a skill seems to a requirement simply to step on the set of Arrow. Although Law is playing the tech genius on Training Day, the actress insists her character will have opportunities to get into the field for some action.

"I think the great thing about my character is that Rebecca Lee, even though she's on the computer a lot and doing the tech savvy stuff, she's getting her hands dirty along with the boys and getting stuff done," Law said.

As for a return to Arrow, Law is reluctant to share any details, but insists a return on Legends of Tomorrow should be mandatory to fill out the unfinished business between Nyssa and Sara Lance. More on that here.

Training Day premiere February 2 at 10 pm ET on CBS.
