Keanu Reeves Says Whether He'd Do A Third John Wick Movie

This week, John Wick will make its return to theaters, and Keanu Reeves will be with it every step of the way. The blockbuster actor has reprised his titular role for the franchise, and it seem like Reeves still isn't finished with the role. During a recent chat with Entertainment Weekly, the actor was asked whether he'd consider returning for John Wick: Chapter 3 - and he seems game!

"When we last left John Wick he was going off into the sunset — the moonset — with him and his dog," Reeves said. "John Wick 2 takes place maybe five days after that. Big picture, the story is about someone from John's past calling in what we call a marker. And basically, if John doesn't do [what the holder of the marker wants], he dies. If he kills the person who holds his marker, I die because of the rules of the Continental. John is on a mission to reclaim his life again. To me, it's about John Wick fighting for John."

If John Wick: Chapter 3 can't be done, then Reeves may turn his eye to the past. Rumors have circulated that a prequel to the franchise may be in the works, and director Chad Stahelski said the idea was being toyed with behind-the-scenes.

"Well, we're not doing a prequel [with Chapter 2]. We wanted to, it just didn't fit quite where we're at," Stahelski told SlashFilm. "We basically almost have a prequel written, but we'd save that for other aspects of the property."

Continuing, Stahelski said John Wick may have a place on television in the future. "Lionsgate is very interested in doing a John Wick TV show, and that seems very appealing to us, to give those creative ideas to that entity, because I think in TV you could really expand on what that is, and greater than we could in just a two-hour film."

So, if Reeves is game, then it seems fans may see more of the actor in the franchise one way or another.

John Wick: Chapter 2 opens in theaters on Feb. 10, 2017.
