Originally a webcomic released in Korea, Star Wars: Story Before The Force Awakens is coming to the U.S., translated into English and released on LINE Webtoon. The story, by Hong Jacga, goes through the original trilogy's events, plus some new elements, exclusively through the eyes of Luke Skywalker.

Every Thursday and Sunday (starting today, October 1, 2015), new chapters of the unique vertically-oriented comic will be released for free on the LINE Webtoon website or via the LINE Webtoon app for iOS and Android through the Apple App Store and Google Play.

"Our fans in the United States are in for something special as they now have a chance to dive into the epic Star Wars story in a totally new way, only on LINE Webtoon," said JunKoo Kim, Founder and Head of LINE Webtoon in a press release. "This immersive digital comic experience offers a brand new experience for Star Wars fans and perfectly showcases the appeal of our digital storytelling format."

Hong Jacga worked with the Star Wars story group to make sure everything within stayed canon, they said at a Story Group panel at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim in April. That means the new elements and the fleshing-out of Luke's time on Tatooine are all full elements of the new Star Wars continuity, just like the Marvel Comics and recent novel releases.
