The next Marvel Comics Star Wars mini-series is a Solo adventure in every sense of the word. Star Wars: Han Solo is a five issue series coming in June 2016, giving Han his own adventure, having been featured primarily in the flagship Star Wars series thus far.

The series brings Marjorie Liu back to Marvel Comics as the writer, and frequent Star Wars comic book cover artist Mark Brooks in on interior art. Taking place between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, as most of their comic books do, the story falls in line with the other comics, exploring another adventure in that three-year time period.

"Basically, I was told that the story takes place between Episodes IV and V, and then they sort of just let me loose. I turned in several different ideas, but the core of them — what I kept at the front of my imagination: He's this working-class dude who lives paycheck to paycheck who has a business to run," Liu told EW. "He's the Han we know and love. He's a con artist, he's a smuggler, he's this wisecracking, streetwise dude, but he's got this internal conflict where there wasn't one before. He's really trying to figure out who he is."

In the story, Han Solo enters a starship race called the Dragon Void Run. The race is infamous for its entrants and difficulty - exactly the kind of challenge Han has always dreamed of facing. His entry isn't just about the glory and fun of the race, however, as he's also on a mission for the Rebel Alliance, hoping to rescue informants and spies who've been caught up in related trouble.

Of course, while the book is called Han Solo, that doesn't mean no one else from the Star Wars world will be in there. In just the preview art alone, we see Chewbacca, Leia, and fan-favorite bounty hunter Bossk.

Han Solo kicks off in June at Marvel Comics.
