Niantic No Longer Accepting Pokemon GO Gym And Pokestop Requests

It appears the Pokemon GO suggestion box is full.

For the moment at least. Developer Niantic initially introduced a support form where players could request a number of things related to the game. These included requesting additional Pokemon Gyms or Pokestops if your area was particularly barren, or likewise requesting the removal of a Gym or Pokestop from your personal property or place of business (via Destructoid).

Evidently it did not take the gaming public long to fill their inbox with a tidal wave of requests. So much so that their support page has been updated with a new message.

"Please note, we are currently not accepting submissions for new PokéStops or Gyms.

If you are having trouble finding PokéStops or Gyms near you, please try visiting a local park or other interesting or historical locations in your community."

Now, you can still submit a removal request related to a Pokestop or Gym, but that's it at the moment. I imagine once things settle down the developer will once again open up submissions, but hopefully, they were actual requests and not along the lines of "game is broken!" or "this game sucks!" because as we all know, those criticisms are just so helpful.

Pokemon GO recently released in Japan, and after a rocky first day seems to have evened out.

You can view the support page for removal requests here.
