Pokemon GO Is Bringing People Together Like Never Before

Pokemon GO has inspired people from all walks of life to wander around aimlessly until that elusive Eevee or Snorlax pops up on your screen.

In fact, people are quickly meeting other like-minded Pokemon fans because of it, inspiring small communities to quickly form (via Polygon).

"I met a bunch of yellow team players, we exchanged numbers and we're all gonna get together tomorrow to go around a few towns capping gyms and collecting Pokemon," Reddit user LostCause_TV said. "As a very shy, introverted person it's amazing that this game can bring together people."

Others have similar stories, such as @Teanah, who posted a picture she snapped of a few people playing the game at what looks like a park with the caption "Drove by a park... Had to stop to take this photo of guys playing Pokemon Go at 1:40 AM. This is real life" It's not the only place fans have gathered to catch some coveted Pokemon, as can be seen in @philthese's video that was posted on Twitter.

Others have taken notice of this trend and have created some additional apps to better facilitate communication. Jonathan Zarra is one of these people and has created Chat for Pokemon GO. The game doesn't contain an internal chat function at this time, so Zarra's app fills the gap nicely. It allows you to see who is in your immediate area and direct message them. You can grab the app free on iPhone, but no Android app is available at this time.

I imagine this isn't the last add-on to the game we'll see.
