Power Rangers Movie: First Up-Close Look At Helmets And Power Coins

The Power Rangers have come to Comic Con International! Lionsgate is at SDCC to promote their upcoming reboot of the long running Saban TV show and we've got a first look at the Power Rangers' helmets and Power Coins.

As seen in the gallery below, the Power Rangers' helmets are a mix of the classic designs from the original TV show, but with a sleek modern metallic look. Like the rest of the Power Rangers' armor, the helmets have a rough, rock-like texture, as if they were carved from stone. We've already seen that the visors of the helmet open to show the Rangers' faces, similar to Iron Man's helmets.

The new Power Coins, which the Power Rangers use to morph into their armored forms, are a more radical departure from the original TV series. Unlike the original power coins, which were just large coins with various prehistoric creatures on them, these look almost like rough pieces of amber or rock. It almost looks like the Power Coins will somehow form or grow into the Power Rangers' armor.

Lionsgate plans on updating Power Rangers fans about the movie at their Hall H presentation this weekend. Be sure to check out some of the other Power Rangers SDCC displays, including this cool look at these new action figures.

Power Rangers stars Elizabeth Banks, Bryan Cranston, Dacre Montgomery, Becky G, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott, and Ludi Lin. Power Rangers will be released in the United States on March 24, 2017.
