Filming and marketing For 20th Century Fox's Deadpool has finally begun and what a start it has been. We got our first official look at star Ryan Reynolds in his Deadpool costume as well as the official synopsis and logo.

For the photo, Deadpool posed on a bearskin rug, which was a spoof on 1970s sex icon Burt Reynolds ("Cannonball Run") and his provocative Cosmopolitan photoshoot. It's a great way to get into the spirit of promoting Deadpool as the character is known for his zany sense of humor.

Also of note: the official Deadpool movie account is only following one other account on Twitter - the official account of Hello Kitty. As I said before, this is a nod to the character's unpredictable tomfoolery. We may not end up with an R-rated Deadpool, but at least Fox is getting the tone right, so far.

Based upon Marvel Comics' most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool slices into theaters February 12, 2016.
