The BBC has released the trailer for The Gamechangers, the new TV drama special that tells the story of the controversy over Grand Theft Auto.

Based on the 2012 book Jacked: The Outlaw Story of Grand Theft Auto by David Kushner, the film stars Daniel Radcliffe as Sam Hauser, co-founder of British game developer Rockstar. Bill Paxton plays attorney, activist, and the gaming world's boogeyman Jack Thompson. The story covers the long legal struggle between Thompson and Houser following the release of Grand Theft Auto III in 2001.

Check it out below:

The trailer, if not the special in its entirety, seems to go out of its way to lionize Houser as a creative visionary while demonizing Thompson. Anyone who grew up playing games in this era probably has a negative enough outlook on Thompson without knowing that he was also, apparently, vaguely Anglophobic.

The Gamechangers will air Sept. 15 on BBC2.
