Watch A 500K LEGO Brick Death Star Being Installed
02/23/2016 03:50 pm EST
You can't ever accuse Legoland of skimping in the effort department, as this enormous Death Star so perfectly illustrates.
Located in Legoland Windsor, the 500,000 piece Death Star had to be lifted (in halves mind you) by a forklift, and took 15 long months to build. Even once it was built, it still took a day to assemble, and six extra weeks to get all the other pieces of the scene (including rebel fighters) into place. The scene will even include guest interaction with sounds and lights.
You can watch some behind the scenes footage above, and get a glimpse of the huge undertaking this was. The Death Star will be the focus of the Star Wars miniland finale when the resort and display open on March 11th.
