When news broke that Boruto: Naruto Next Generations was in development, fans knew the new series would have its fair share of easter eggs. The anime takes place several years after Naruto: Shippuden and tells the story of Konoha's newest ninja. Following the life of Naruto's eldest child, Boruto is put at odds with others like Sasuke's daughter - but that doesn't mean the duo cannot work together.

No, if Boruto's latest easter egg has anything to say, then the powerful duo definitely know how to put their dads' strategies into practice.

In the anime's latest episode, fans watched as Sarada and Boruto borrowed a play from the fathers. During a late-night romp through the Academy, Sarada is seen throwing a Demon Wind Shuriken towards the building's roof. Fans watched perplexed until the knife transformed into Boruto, letting fans in on the clever bait-and-switch.

For Naruto fans, the move is one they should immediately recognize; After all, Sasuke and Naruto did use the clever strategy during the Wave Country Arc. When Team 7 encountered Zabuza, the genin were stunned when the ex-Mist ninja caught Kakashi in a Water Prison jutsu. Instead of running away, the boys come up with a plan to save their teacher.

Unable to fight Zabuza head-on, Sasuke throws a Demon Wind shuriken at the ninja but misses on purposes. The baddie takes a moment to monologue about the Uchiha's failure, leaving him open to Naruto when the ninja lets go of his transformation jutsu. Rather than flinging a weapon, Sasuke really threw Naruto over Zabuza, and the loud ninja was then able to throw a kunai which broke Kakahi's watery prison.
