Warning! Spoilers for Boruto's 25th episode lie below!

Naruto fans will be very familiar with the Akatsuki, but the next episode of Boruto will have fans eyeing Kisame Hoshigaki in particular. After all, the anime is about to bring in a character who could easily be the villain's son. Just, don't bank on the Akatsuki member passing this new kid's paternity test.

Boruto's 25th episode will air next week, and new information about the episode went public today. A synopsis for the next episode was shared in Japan along character designs of two new characters: Kagura Karatachi and Shisuma Hoshigaki.

Of course, the latter name should be one which Naruto fans know well. Kisame shared the last name Hoshigaki, and the pair's mutual birthplace in the Hidden Mist Village would indicate they are related. Boruto's character notes for Shisuma confirm the two men are related, and the newcomer is expected to be as bloodthirsty as his...uncle? Second cousin once removed, perhaps?

As you can see above, Shisuma has a few key traits in common with Kisama. The new character has gill markings under his eyes, and Shisuma's eyes are similarly beady. However, the younger ninja rocks some flowing locks unlike Kisame's short hairstyle. And, thanks to Shisuma's age, the kid is much smaller than Kisame was when Naruto fans first met the Akatsuki member.

While the characters may look very different from the outside, Boruto points out the Hoshigaki ninjas are similar on the inside. Shisuma's biography calls him a "diehard fighting maniac" who comes from the "same clan as Hoshigaki Kisame.

"He years for the old days of 'The Village of the Bloody Mist,'" the description reveals.

Naruto fans know that wishing for the Hidden Mist Village's bloody days must be insane. The ninja village once was known by such a reputation when its ninja were forced to kill one another to rank up, but the practice was stopped under its fifth Mizukage. Kisame grew up under the village's unruly reign, breeding him to become a human weapon. There's something about the elder that Shisuma must admire, so Boruto better tread carefully when he visits the Hidden Mist Village soon.
