Boruto: Naruto The Movie English Release Date, Pre-Order Announced

Believe it! Naruto is making a comeback, and he is doing so with a bang. The knuckle-headed ninja has come a long way since he was a green genin, and Viz Media is gearing up to show U.S. fans how far Naruto has come. After a long wait, the acclaimed Boruto: Naruto The Movie is being brought to the U.S. for Blu-ray and DVD. And, now, Viz Media has confirmed its release date and pre-order status.

Last week, fans learned that Boruto: Naruto The Movie was being brought to the U.S. thanks to an announcement by Viz Media. The movie's English voice cast will house anime veterans like Amanda Miller, Cherami Leigh, and Robbie Daymond. The movie will premiere its English dub at Katsucon 2017 where all three cast members will be in attendances.

As for its wide release, Boruto: Naruto The Movie will hit shelves on March 28th. Fans of the franchise will also be able to start reading Shonen Jump's Boruto manga, a spin-off of Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto series. The manga will be released both in print and digitally on April 4th. Pre-orders are now available for Boruto: Naruto The Movie and the first volume of the Boruto manga.

"With Naruto as the Seventh Hokage, Hidden Leaf Village is planning to host the Chunin Exams to train new shinobi from the village and from their allied villages. Among the entrants are Sasuke's daughter, Sarada, Mitsuki, an exceptionally talented yet mysterious shinobi… And Boruto, Naruto's talented but impetuous son.

Meanwhile, Sasuke who's been on a mission in another dimension appears before Naruto to warn of a strange impending danger. Shrouded with an evil aura, Momoshiki and Kinshiki appear and attempt to assassinate Naruto. Petrified, Boruto is shielded by Naruto, only to disappear in front of Boruto's own eyes."

Creator Masashi Kishimoto wrote the original story and designed characters for the film. He also served as chief production supervisor. Hiroyuki Yamashita, who directed episodes of Naruto Shippūden and Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie, directed the new film. Ukyō Kodachi co-wrote the script with Kishimoto.
