Godzilla Anime Film To Stream Globally On Netflix

If you are one of the millions reeling from Kong: Skull Island's release, then get ready. Another kaiju flick will soon make its way to you, and the King of Monsters is taking on a whole new form to do so. Later this year, the first-ever anime film about Godzilla will be released thanks to TOHO, and the studio wants as many fans as possible to see it. So, of course, it makes since for TOHO to approach Netflix about streaming it.

Today, news broke that Polygon Pictures would be working with Netflix to stream Godzilla's anime debut globally. TOHO and Netflix will then work together on coordinated theatrical and streaming premieres.

Currently, there is little known about the Godzilla anime venture, but a few pieces of concept art have been released. More details about the project are slated to surface on March 26th when a stage event for the film is held at AnimeJapan 2017.

Godzilla will be directed by Kobun Shizuno and Hiroyuki Seshita. Gen Urobuchi created the story and penned the screenplay.
