If you have gotten a hold of the most recent Yu-Gi-Oh! movie on Blu-ray or DVD, then you may want to make sure it is okay. 4K Media had its home release of Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions go live, but the event has already been derailed. Apparently, the film's subtitles are not exactly up to par.

Thanks to the YG Organization, fans have learned the initial wave of Blu-rays and DVDs forThe Dark Side of Dimensions are flawed. Fans began to complain that their purchases did not contain correct subtitles, and 4K Media has since corroborated the claim.

The subtitle problem is definitely an issue for English-speaking fans who want the full Dark Side of Dimensions experience. Rather than including in-depth subtitles, the home release includes a simplified subtitle script that glosses over parts of the movie's mythos. Anecdotes about Aigami and his comrade Prana are left out, and its use of censored euphemisms is also rather vexing. The theatrical run ofThe Dark Side of Dimensions did include a more accurate script, but it appears the two subtitles got mixed when it came to home releases.

If you happen to have gotten a bad copy ofThe Dark Side of Dimensions, then you don't need to worry; 4K Media is willing to help you out. Lion's Gate and Anchor Bay have apologized for their production error and are willing to replace any defective products. You can fill out an exchange request here.
