Arrow Showrunner Reveals If Redemption For Black Siren Is In The Cards

Oliver and Team Arrow received a gut punch when Damian Darhk killed Laurel Lance, something not made any easier by the appearance of her Earth-Two alter ego Black Siren.

While she isn't the hero fans have come to know, that doesn't mean redemption won't be a pivotal element to the character in season 6. Arrow co-showrunner teased as much to TV Line, and feels that regardless of if that happens, Black Siren will be one to watch.

"I don't know if there's any question about whether or not the [idea] of redemption will come up; it has to. Her father is there. Oliver is there. Everyone is going to be asking whether or not it's possible to find a little piece of Laurel, the Laurel Lance they knew and loved, in there somewhere." That said, "I think she's interesting as a [villain]," Mericle asserted. "Black Siren is a badass."

Black Siren was involved in the climatic fight at the end of season 5, and appears to have a significant role in season 6. She won't be alone either, as Oliver's foe turned ally Deathstroke will also have a substantial part this season, and fans will be happy to have both of them back in the fold.

Oliver has finally solidified and strengthened his crime-fighting team only to have it threatened when unexpected enemies from his past return to Star City, forcing Oliver to rethink his relationship with each member of his "family".

Based on the characters from DC, ARROW is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti ("The Flash," "Supergirl"), Marc Guggenheim ("DC's Legends of Tomorrow," "Eli Stone"), Wendy Mericle ("Desperate Housewives," "Eli Stone"), Andrew Kreisberg ("The Flash," "Eli Stone," "Warehouse 13") and Sarah Schechter ("The Flash," "DC's Legends of Tomorrow").

Supergirl premieres on Monday, October 9th at 8 pm, while The Flash debuts on Tuesday, October 10 at 8 pm. Legends of Tomorrow moves to Tuesdays this Fall, airing right after The Flash on October 10. On Thursday, October 12 at 9 pm Arrow will premiere to round out the DC roster.
