Arrow: Stephen Amell Says Fall Finale Is The Episode He's Most Proud Of This Season

Arrow might have been busy this past week with The CW's alien invasion crossover, but it has no plans to slow down now that the special is over. Next week, the hit drama will return for its fall finale following the Invasion! miniseries, and Stephen Amell is saying the midseason wrap is something fans will not want to miss.

Earlier today, Amell took to Facebook for a live stream Q&A and was asked about next week's episode. A fan questioned the star about whether Artemis would betray Team Arrow in the finale, and Amell had this to say:

"Maybe. I can tell you that Artemis plays a big, big role in our fall finale which airs this Wednesday. I know sometimes I say this, but it's probably the episode I'm most proud of this year."

He continued, saying, "Does it have the history and the characters and all of the things that the 100th episode has? No, of course not. That would be impossible, but I'm so proud of that episode."

If you are wondering just why next week's episode holds such a special place with Amell, then you are in luck. TV Line recently spoke with executive producer Marc Guggenheim about the story, and he said the finale will finally wrap up Arrow's on-going flashback sequence.

"It was really just a hope at that point [in 2012] that the show would run five years, and we always thought that we would intercut the final moment of the series with the first moment of the series, that it would form one big Moebius strip," Guggenheim explained.

"There's still a part of me that wishes we could do that. But I wouldn't want to artificially extend the flashbacks [beyond five seasons], and I also wouldn't want to artificially cut the show short. It would've been a beautifully elegant thing, and Five Years Ago Me would've loved it. But things change, and I do think it'll make the Season 5 finale pretty awesome."

With Guggenheim's words in mind, it is easy to understand why Amell is so insistent that fans watch the fall finale. At the end of his live stream, the actor reiterated how important next week's episode is. "Watch next week's episode, and for god's sake, do not miss the last scene."
