What If Batman V Superman Was A Buddy Cop Movie?

One fan of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has decided to imagine the film as something very different, a buddy cop movie.

In the fan trailer seen above from YouTube user ChiefBrodyRules, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice become simply Dawn of Justice, a buddy cop movie in the vein of Lethal Weapon, but starring Ben Affleck's Dark Knight and Henry Cavill's Man of Steel. Rather than being at each other's throats, Superman and Batman partner up to take down criminals with their own, unique brand of police work.

The transformative, fan-created trailer was made possible through the use of footage from movies like Robocop, Gone Girl, The Departed, Bad Boys 2, Taken, and Lethal Weapon 4. It also borrows footage from other DC Comics movies, including Man of Steel, Suicide Squad, The Dark Knight Rises, and Superman Returns.

While it's more of a niche genre now, there was a time when buddy cop movies were as common at the box office as superhero movies are now, so there's a certain thematic logic to bringing the two genres together. Now we just want to see them mashed up as an actual movie.
